You are invited to celebrate with the class of 2014.

You are invited to the following events in Boston. As part of the AIB Low Residency Program,  I am an MFA candidate planning graduate from the program on January 11th. Our final residency session begins on January 3rd. Saturday, January 4th, I will be giving my art talk. These talks are open to the public and will be at 700 Beacon Street in room 215. There are six of us scheduled to speak that night from 5:30-7:30. We each get fifteen minutes to present and ten minutes for questions. You can find out more about our cohort by visiting this website http://www.dirtydozenaib.com and my new updated website can be found at http://www.staceypiwinski.com .

Monday- Thursday we will have visiting artists coming to speak in the evening. All lectures are free and open to the public and will be at 565 Comm Ave in the BU building at Kenmore square. These presentation are from 7-9pm. I am especially looking forward to hearing Lynne Cooke and Maria Magdalena Compos-Pons. You can find more information about these talks at http://www.lesley.edu/mfa/visual-arts/visiting-artists/ Please feel free to let me know if you plan on attending these talks and I will see you there.

Our final Thesis Exhibition will be on display beginning Monday, January 6th - Saturday January 11th in the Main Gallery at AIB located at 700 Beacon Street. I would recommend coming to see the show before the reception, so you can look at the work easier. The reception is usually very well attended. If you'd like to join us for the reception, it is on January 11th from 8pm-10pm. The Grad Toast begins at 8pm and the reception follows.

We have worked hard for the last two years to reach point, so I hope you can come out to see the show and attend some of the events and celebrate with us.

Welcome to my new blog.

I am happy to say that my new website is now live at http://www.staceypiwinski.com
Please check it out and let me know what you think.

I would also like to welcome you to my new blog. Blogging has become a habit while in the MFA program at the Art Institute of Boston, now known as Lesley University College of Art and Design (LUCAD). I am anticipating my graduation from this program this January 2014. I have decided to continue this habit here on this blog. I plan on using this blog to share exhibitions I find inspiring and keep you up to date on local events and showings.

The first exhibition I must mention is at the Revival Gallery at Fitchburg State College. The show is titled Abstract Women and features five AIB MFA alumni and me (Artsits-Brenda van der Beek, Rebecca Moran, Stacey Piwinski, Johana Skalsky Presence, Lynda Schlosberg, and Dianaa Vosburg. Curated by Coelynn McIninch.) On display November 9th through December 8th, 2013. This is a show to see!
